TheDoctor's guide to Citrine

Post by The Doctor on Tue Apr 21, 2009 1:06 pm

Lets start with some simple things like a Q&A especially the questions i get ingame.

Q: Where do I get Fly?
A:By beating Lt Surge, also known as the 3rd gym leader,(In Vermillion City) once you beat him you should have Fly in your inventory.

Q: How do I get Surf?
A By beating Sabrina or the 6th gym leader (Saffron City) once you beat her like Surge, Surf should appear in you inventory.

Q: Where is the 4th gym leader?
A: Go south of Cerulean City (2nd gym leader area) you should see a guard a space away from a small bridge, take that bridge, hopefully you can figure the rest out but if you trully need help, find you nearest local gun store and do us all a favor.

Q: How do I find a shiny Pokemon?
A: Shiny Pokemon are very rare and you have to be lucky to find one, any Pokemon can be shiny excluding trainers (or NPC's) Pokemon, so you do not have to worry.

Q: Where's *insert Pokemon name*?
A:I'll be making a detailed guide of every Pokemon throughout all the routes excluding the NPC's you have to trade with.

If you remove the n00b stuff and the n00b language and make this a really serious FAQ i'll be more than happy to add it to the guides once ready.
I'm not much ingame myself, so got no idea what questions need to be answered the most.

I think that we shouldnt have to tell them where all the pokemon are, it kinad ruins the game in a way. I would rather have them trying to find their own because it adds more fun and gives them something to do before the orange islands but thats just my opinion.

Tre but hey, you play the game for you to be fun right.
So if you don;t want to know, you don't, but when you are frustrated as hell you take a peek.
In the end there is no way stopping people from NOT finding out on their own.

Well yes, but if they know the exact area of most of the rarer pokemon then they spend time catching them, thus making them not as uncommon which is unfair to the trainers that accidently found, caught, and began to train them in hopes of being a bit more unique. If the people can peak and find the areas these pokemon are at, they are able to hunt them down, get the exact same team, and a bunch of pokemon trainers with identical teams seems quite boring.

True, however, Pokemon are only restricted to an area, it's not like a certain tile will make it pop up.
The fact they are rare or not is still true, but pointing them into the right direction makes sure that they are atleast trying their luck on the right place.

The way I see it, if you don't post it here, it will get posted elsewere.
If someone wants a team like yours, they will managge to do so one way or the other.
I say we make this forum a usefull place.

As long as we keep using the spoiler option atleast they will realise what clicking it will result into.

On a side note, I think the whole reason IV's EV's and Natures are in the game is to make sure having the perfect team takes effort.
Catching the right Pokemon has never been the biggest issue if you ask me.

Well, yes, I agree. I am a major trainer in that fashion and look forward to making my team as strong as possible. It is why I look forward to the tournament so much, but I still don't enjoy the option of people looking on here to see where pokemon are, I believe they should have to ask individuals in game, but it is just an opinion and I won't argue it too much.

Right now I'm currently re-going over every single route to make sure where each and every single Pokemon is to know for sure how rare it is.
Also edited the title and one of the Q&A's as suggested.
