This is weird -.-

Post by Kisioj on Tue May 05, 2009 3:55 pm

I caught magikarp at lvl 5 and left it in pokemon center till it evolved into gyarados (lvl 20). From lvl 20 - 30 I trained it by myself in fire's gym cave. I got my gyarados to lvl 30 but people told me he was weak because I left him in pokemon center (normally Gyarados should have 150hp at lvl 30), they said I have to train my gyarados by myself. I decided to breed magikarp and train it by myself from lvl 1.

Actually I have 2 gyaradoses lvl 30 but the one I trained by myself isn't much stronger (if is stronger) than the one trained in daycare center -.- Can anyone explain me that?

The Gyarados I trained from lvl 1 to lvl 30:

It is because I don't believe you were doing proper EV training. The HP thing that the people are saying is wrong, in order to get that HP up even if you trained from level 1 to 30 you would need to focus on EV training the HP rather than the other stats. In truth...The better trained one you have is the one you daycared, but if you really want to make a good one you need to focus on two stats. The two stats on which you need to focus on should be of your choice, but go to a site and look up EV training. Train them according to the pokemon it says give those stats that is what makes a strong pokemon, not just random training.

Well the one you trianed is better overall. Here look at this.
If you add the hp,att, def, spatt, spdef, and spd of both separetly did you will notice that
the one you train has
626
the one that was daycared has
617
so overall, you gain more points training him than daycaring and with ev it can be dangerous.

Also the EV of the one that you didn't daycare could be bugged.

Stats between pokemon differ, no 2 are exactly the same, things such as natures, stats, even movesets can be different (i.e caught in the wild vs breeded)

The post by Samilator was nearly a month ago, so if there are no further questions, lock please.
